Hello my fellow crafters!
For the past 10 weeks I participated in The Crochet Crowd‘s Mystery Afghan Crochet Along. Each week, Mikey would reveal a new clue in making this beautiful piece. For years I have followed Mikey and admired his ability to bring an entire crochet community together. It has motivated me to do something similar. This crochet along project has had its highs and lows. I am supremely satisfied with the final product, but at times, I was definitely challenged by it.
I struggled with Weeks 4-5, but my favorite was to see the squares as they transformed in Week 3. The highlight of the entire project was making the border. Before that, I felt like it looked like a bag of confetti thrown everywhere, but the border definitely tied it all in to make it a piece that I will definitely cherish or gift. I did have a lot of leftover yarn which I found surprising, but I can always use yarn, so that’s not a bad thing! I would consider doing more of these crochet along projects in the future. I had a lot of fun with this challenge, and each week’s reveal was exciting to see! I would highly recommend trying something like this to any crocheter.

Supplies used:
H size hook (5.00mm)
4 skeins of Caron Simply Soft yarn in color A, 2 Skeins of colors B, C, and D.
Scissors and a Yarn Needle

Looks beautiful I’ve still got the last week to start.
I came across your pink and white crocheted baby afghanv tonight. I enjoyed your tutorial very much. You were clear and consistent. The border really added to it and you are right…very pretty for a baby girl.
“Olivia” is due June 25th. and she will be my 5th great gran child. I have a question for you…After the border you added, what did the Afghan measure?
I am thinking that I might make it for Olivia. Just like yours. I just finished a baby blue and white blanket out of Bernats Pipsqueek. It is so soft. I have alread purchased the same yarn in baby pink and white. I think I will make a swatch of both pattern, and
then decide which one. I really like Baby Blue and white that I made for Luke (42″) sq. I used Pipsqueek. I really like BERNET’ Pipsqueek to crochet with. I also signed up to follow you . Take care and “God bless.” Sharon in Florida

I am so glad you found my videos and are able to make something so special for your family. The wavy shell blanket measured approximately 45 inches x 62 inches with the border. If you do not want to do a border, it measures around 42×60. I hope this helps!! Thank you for continually watching my videos! ~Nadia
Beautiful job Nadia…. I’m working on my picots and I can see the finish line. Thank you for your inspiration to get me closer to the finish line. ( I would so stink at running marathons…. now net flick marathons are another story )!
