Crochet Tutorial: Dazzling Dragonfly Granny Square

I created this Dazzling Dragonfly Granny Square design to add to our 365 Days of Granny Squares project. It uses variety of crochet stitches to create a look of a 3D Dragonfly! I hope you enjoy making your square!

A couple disclaimers before you start: Be sure to check your tension and use the correct size hook for your square. I demonstrate with an H-5.00mm crochet hook in the video tutorial, but you can make yours bigger or smaller by using a bigger or smaller hook. Also, if yours turns out wonky when you are finished, you may need to block this square to make it nice and flat.

  3. I found you on Youtube, and I’m crazy for your patterns. You are a marvelous teacher and I will try to make all of your 365 patterns.

  4. I LOVE this Granny square!!
I’m always looking for new and different GSs, & this is THE most unique one in 30+ years of making them.
Thank you so veryvery much!! I can envision it on all squares in a piece, or flitting among several varying flower GSs. I can also easily see how to make it with butterfly wings, now you’ve shown this.

Only wish a downloadable pdf was available, so much easier to use a pattern offline, without having to drag a printed paper patern around, or having to be online in waiting rooms where I’m passing the time by making easy-carry Granny Squares.

However! This pattern is scrumptious and I’m making at least one this afternoon.
    Thank you again, and again!!!!
