NOTES

-Watch the FULL introduction of the video tutorial for frequently asked questions and watch the full video for tips on how to make these smaller or bigger.
-I used Red Heart Sweet Yarn but you can use any bulky size yarn to make this blanket.
-This blanket measures 70 inches wide and 71 inches long
-This blanket uses 1,780 yards of yarn. (I used a total of 20 skeins of Sweet yarn in this project)
You can get other blanket sizes here (about halfway down the page there’s measurements on different blanket sizes)
-For a baby blanket, my recommendation is to make your foundation chain 64 chains
-For a throw blanket, my recommendation is to make your foundation chain 80 chains
-For a Queen blanket, my recommendation is to make your foundation chain 104 chains
-For a King blanket, my recommendation is to make your foundation chain 144 chains

Red Heart Yarns Sweet in Tan
10mm crochet hook
Yarn Needle
Scissors
Measuring Tape

Special stitches:
Ch(s): chain(s)
YO: Yarn Over
St(s): Stitch(es)
Sl st: slip stitch
SK: Skip
SC: Single Crochet
DC: Double Crochet

Pattern:

Pattern:

 

Chain 104 or any multiple of 8 (see other blanket measurement sizes here)
Row 1: DC in 4th ch from hook and across, turn. (102 sts)
Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc) *FPdc around the post of each of next 4 sts, BPdc around the post of each of next 4 sts, rep from * across, ending with 1 dc in top of turning chain, turn.
Row 3: Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc) *BPdc around the post of next 4 sts, FPdc around the post of each of next 4 sts, rep from * ending with 1 dc in top of turning ch, turn.
Row 4: Repeat Row 2
Row 5: Repeat Row 2
Row 6: Repeat Row 3
Row 7: Repeat Row 2
Row 8: Repeat Row 3
Row 9: Repeat Row 3
Rows 10-71: Repeat rows 2-9 for however long you want to make your blanket
When you are finished with your last row, SC around the entire blanket to clean up the edges and put 3 SC in each corner.
Sl st to first SC, and fasten off.
Weave in all ends.
