FREE Crochet Video Tutorial: Wee One Baby Bonnet

FREE Crochet Video Tutorial: Wee One Baby Bonnet

My Wee One Bonnet is a mix of moss stitch granny squares and a few other fun stitches that works up nicely in this cute unisex bonnet! I made this one in Marly Bird’s Chic Sheep Yarn in the color VIP but don’t be limited to that! You can make this in every color of the rainbow for all the babies or Wee Ones that you know!

This little bonnet has a bit of a square shape which makes this have a little bit of a vintage appeal. Many of the old school bonnets had a similar shape and this one is a sweet one to resurrect this fun look. One of these would make a lovely addition to any layette.

This bonnet is a year round wear item, but is perfect for fitting under a hood since it has little bulk. It is also nice for springtime to protect ears from a slight breeze or chill in the air. You can’t go wrong with one of these for your little one or for a gift!

My Punny Valentine – Happy Valentine’s Day!

My Punny Valentine – Happy Valentine’s Day!

The tradition continues with my annual Punny Valentine’s. Each year, I create these silly sentiments using crochet and puns. I try to be as creative and amusing as possible. I do, however, have to match a pun to something I can create using my crochet magic. It is NOT easy, let me tell you, this blog showcases my collection from 2020. You can check out my 2018 Punny Valentine’s Here! See my 2017’s Punny Valentine’s here and my 2016’s Punny Valentine’s here! Do you have a fun pun to share? Let me know in the comments section. Share a possible pun that might show up in my 2021 Punny Valentine Series! ~Nadia

Sloth Lovey

FREE Crochet Video Tutorial: Sloth Lovey

FREE Crochet Video Tutorial: Sloth Lovey

I’m taking it “slow” this morning as I finish wrapping up our Valentine’s puns! I really enjoyed “hanging” with you these past two weeks sharing my projects. I really love it “a sloth.” Now that this series is over I can take a little time to “relax” maybe even have a cuppa “slothee.” Maybe be a little “anti-sloth-al” for a day or two and enjoy Valentine’s with this sweet boy. He will be just “hanging out” with his mama all day. I am not trying to get all “philo-sloth-ical,” but this has been a very “sloth-some” experience to really help me “move slowly” back to a regular crochet schedule. Up until recently, I have been in total “sloth-mode”. Thanks for being so “sloth-ful” and kind everybody! Enjoy the final Punny Valentine! ❤ Nadia, Nate, and Nas ❤

FREE Crochet Video Tutorial: Alien Puppet

FREE Crochet Video Tutorial: Alien Puppet

It feels like I have traveled the “universe” to find projects that are “out of this world”! I feel “over the moon” to add my One-Eyed Alien Hand Puppet to the mix! I try to be “down to earth” and find projects that appeal to all. This series has seen “galactic” popularity, but it is a big “comet-ment!” I just had to “space” them out just right. I don’t know anyone in the “galaxy” who likes puns as much as I do, so I had to “planet” out weeks in advance. The “sky is the limit” and I “moon” over the ideas for days. I do this because all of you are so “space-ial.” You think these puns are “solar-ious” and that inspires me to “meteor” expectations. I always knew it was “written in the stars” to do this and you all helped “rocket” my success. I do understand the “gravity” of this job. “Saturn” that frown upside down and enjoy today’s punny Valentine project. Disclaimer: I hope no one will “comet me” for the amount of puns in this caption that cause you to roll your eyes! Ha!

FREE Written Crochet Pattern: Alien Puppet

FREE Written Crochet Pattern: Alien Puppet

Ha!

FREE Crochet Photo Tutorial: Have A Heart Flip Flops

FREE Crochet Photo Tutorial: Have A Heart Flip Flops

I have “walked” through these punny patterns year after year. I try to “take steps” to bring a variety of fun projects and not “step on any toes” when making these. My Have A Heart Flip Flops are the perfect project to “heel” many of us from these long winter blues! I can’t be the “sole” individual that is getting a bit of cabin fever!? This winter has been “laced” with so much time to crochet, but it honestly is starting to consume my “sole!” Hopefully, a few of these projects will have you falling “head over heels” and eager to make some! This one is a “shoe-in” for one of the easiest! Just take it “one step at a time.” While you are working on this next punny project photo-tutorial, I am heading out for some “shoe-shi” with my “sole-mate!” Ok, I will stop here before I insert my “foot in mouth” any further! Ha!!

First, gather your supplies:
Flip Flops, Size H-5.00mm crochet hook, Scissors, Yarn needle, and some yarn.

Then make a slip knot and attach that loop to your hook. Work around the strap of the flip flop as you see in the photos below. Just make a single crochet stitch around the strap.

When you work around the toe separator in the sandal, just go from one side of that post to the other side. You do not have to work around that post at all.

When you are ready to fasten off, just chain 1, cut your yarn, and sew in your end.

You can make a flower or a heart or leave it plain. It’s totally up to you!

Here’s the pattern for the heart I added to my flip flop:

Heart: (Optional)

Round 1: Ch 3, 12 DC in 3rd Ch from hook, sl st to first st. (12)

Round 2: Ch 1, dc in the same stitch. [tr, tr, htr] in next st, [dc, hdc] in next st, 2 sc in next 2 sts, [hdc, dc, ch1] in next st, [dc, hdc] in next st, 2 SC in next 2 sts, [hdc, dc] in next st, [htr, tr, tr] in next st, [dc, ch1] in last st, st sl in the same stitch. Fasten off with a long tail for sewing.

Sew heart to flip flop. (embellish with a button if you’d like!)

Enjoy!!

FREE Crochet Video Tutorial: Cow Amigurumi

FREE Crochet Video Tutorial: Cow Amigurumi

I feel like I am having a “Deja-Moo” from last year creating all of the corniest puns. I get so “a-moos-d” making these captions. I am trying hard to not push “pasture” tolerance of ridiculousness, but you know I am here to “bull-doze” you over with too many puns. Once I get started, it’s “udder-

ly” hard to stop! I try to “beef” these up year after year, I try to “cow-culate” the best projects to deliver the best captions. It’s not easy, but if you don’t like them, I try not to cry over spilled “milk” and “moooo-ve” onto the next! I think this little cow is going to be “legen-dairy.” All I know is with this project, the “steaks” have been raised! “Holy Cow” I think you have “herd” enough.
