I took a little time off for the holiday. Sorry for being missing from my YARNutopia platforms lately. I’m ending the year with a NEW pattern and I hope you really like it! It features Lion Brand Yarn Hometown in Tampa Spice and Aspen Tweed. Plus, a FUR POM!! I hope you all have a safe and healthy New Year! Cheers to 2021!!

Materials you will need:
Get the supplies individually by clicking the links below
Lion Brand Yarn Hometown in Aspen Tweed and Tampa Spice
Size Q-15mm Crochet Hook
Yarn Needle
-Faux Fur Pom
Scissors

NOTES:

-Use a smaller hook to make these smaller
-Use a bigger hook to make these bigger
-This is written in US terms
-This hat will fit any adult
-I do not have stitch counts for smaller or bigger sizes.
-This took about 3 hours for me to create.
-You can check out yarnsub.com to see yarn substitutions that are equal to the Lion Brand yarn I used in this project.

Special stitches:
Ch(s): chain(s)
YO: Yarn Over
St(s): Stitch(es)
Sl st: slip stitch
SK: Skip
BLO: Back Loop Only
FLO: Front Loop Only
SC: Single Crochet

 

Pattern:

 

Work into the center of the stitches (See this video tutorial for visual instructions on how to do the waistcoat stitch)

 

Rnd 1: With Tampa Red, Ch 2, 6 SC in 2nd ch from hook, work in continuous rounds.

Rnd 2: 2 SC in each st around (work INTO the center of the stitch, not the top of the stitch) (12)

Rnd 3: [2 SC in next st, SC in next st] 6 times. (18)

Rnd 4: [2 SC in next st, SC in next 2 sts] 6 times. (24)

Rnd 5: [2 SC in next st, SC in next 3 sts] 6 times. (30)

Rnd 6: [2 SC in next st, SC in next 4 sts] 6 times. (36)

Rnd 7: [2 SC in next st, SC in next 5 sts] 6 times. (42)

Rnds 8-18: SC in each st around. (42) (Change color to the ASPEN TWEED after Round 8)

Fasten off, weave in ends.

Sew a fur pom at the top of the hat.

Change the colors for your favorite team, monochromatic two tones, or a splash of rainbow, any color combination will work! Think outside the box and use this design for a harlequin costume as well! You will have this stitch mastered in no time and your creativity will be out of this world!

Round 2: With Black, Enrelac Stitch around starting at the peak of a diamond from the previous round. (See video tutorial for this part), Sl st to first st, Fasten off
Round 3: With Aran, Enrelac Stitch around starting at the peak of a diamond from the previous round. (See video tutorial for this part), Sl st to first st, Fasten off
Round 4: With Black, Enrelac Stitch around starting at the peak of a diamond from the previous round. (See video tutorial for this part), Sl st to first st, Fasten off
Round 5: With Aran, Enrelac Stitch around starting at the peak of a diamond from the previous round. (See video tutorial for this part), Sl st to first st, Fasten off

Round 3: ch up 2 (does not count as anything), DC in each st around, sl st to 1st DC. (40 sts)
Round 4: Ch 2, [FPDC in next st, DC in next st] around, sl st to FPDC
Round 5-7: Repeat Round 4
Fasten off, weave in ends.

Bottom part of cuff:
with Black
