FREE Written Crochet Pattern: Hanging Planter Basket

FREE Written Crochet Pattern: Hanging Planter Basket

In the recent past, I have become quite the plant enthusiast.  In keeping with my new passion, I am always on the lookout for new plants and ways to showcase them. I saw these hanging baskets pop up on my plant pages, and I knew it would be something that I could make myself. This is the result of my “can I make this myself” discovery. So many of us crocheters catch ourselves saying that from time to time when we see projects like these. Below, find the written pattern to this hanging planter basket. I hope it is as easy to whip up as it was for me! Also, please note, you don’t have to be a plant enthusiast to enjoy these baskets. You can find so many uses for these around your home. Enjoy!

FREE Crochet Video Tutorial: Large Basket using Chunky Yarn

FREE Crochet Video Tutorial: Large Basket using Chunky Yarn

Sometimes things don’t go the way we expect and we have to improvise. Which is exactly what I had to do for this beautiful Chunky Basket. This is my latest project for the Funky with Chunky yarn event! Using Bernat Maker Big Yarn I created this very practical, very sturdy basket that is perfect for so much around the house. Great for storage, toys, organization, towels, you name it, one or more of these baskets will come in handy and look stylish, too!! I know for my house, this basket will be great for storing either yarn or Nasir’s toys. With Easter around the corner and the ‘safer at home’ quarantine ordinance in place, this would make a great kids basket. I am sure we will get a lot of use out of this home accessory. Be sure to follow along in today’s video tutorial or written pattern to make your own. Don’t have this yarn? Use tee shirt yarn or any variation of chunky yarn that’s size 5 to create this piece.

This video was not filmed in typical YARNutopia fashion. Because of the latest mandates imposed by the Governor regarding Safer At Home policies. My parents will be unable to travel. Therefore, this was filmed by yours truly. Enjoy!

Crochet Tutorial: Simple Basket

Crochet Tutorial: Simple Basket

I’m *vine-ally* coming to the last few days of puns! I’ve been a *basket-case* trying to think of great ideas that are *ex-straw-dinary* and fun. I know some of you can’t *container* feelings about what you think. Some think they are *unbe-weave-able*, others think they are pretty *rattan*! I have been a bit *bamboo-zled* over the response! With so much on my *plait* right now, a *wicker* woman might give up and quit these puns. Not me! I would be in a *bushel* of trouble! Doing 14 projects in 14 day isn’t easy, but I am someone who *sticks* with it! These projects and puns are a tradition and this tradition has become *woven* in my heart because these are all for Nate to *reed* and crocheters to enjoy! Once these are over, however, I plan to *braid* around and celebrate that I *willow*-nly have the wedding to *carry* out! Yayyy! Stay tuned for the Mini Basket tutorial! It will be up on the blog later today-just in time for Easter!

Crochet Tutorial: Munching Monster Laundry Bag

Crochet Tutorial: Munching Monster Laundry Bag

This Monster has the munchies! My Munching Monster Laundry Bag Hamper is ready to chow down on your child’s dirty laundry. A great way to create a teaching moment and pint-sized responsibilities while having fun doing it! Socks, pajamas, t-shirts, towels, and undies, this monster will gobble them all up! This project uses Red Heart Super Saver Stripes Yarn!

There are a lot of ideas in this one project! Unleash your creativity and turn this project into a body pillow by stuffing it and sewing the mouth closed. You could make it shorter and add straps to the back to make a backpack. Adding a long strap, you could create a cross-body bag. You could put a handle on it and make it a cute Halloween candy sack!

Change the colors and add bows and eyelashes to make this more gender specific. There are so many cute ideas packed into one great pattern!! Have fun!!

This sweet little fella will hop right into your heart this season! This Bunny Amigurumi in a Carrot Cocoon is a darling project and easy enough to have done in time to make it in those baskets this Easter! For those of you who love bunnies, this is a 10 on the adorable scale!!

When I was a little girl, my maternal grandma LOVED bunnies! I remember every Easter we would go to her house and she had a basket full of bunnies. I remember playing with them! Because of her, I developed a love for stuffed bunny rabbits and it has carried into my adulthood! It has inspired me to share it with all of you!!

As we continue with these items, they can be altered to fit a little boy or little girl simply by changing colors. It is a very versatile hat.
