Here’s a great holiday project gift idea for many people on your list. This Vintage Inspired Santa Bottle Topper is a perfect adornment for any bottle. Whether it’s a bottle of fine olive oil, wine or other beverages, bath/spa products or more, this little guy is the best accessory to dress that gift up! What a nice alternative for the traditional bow when topping off your package.

Materials you will need:
Red Heart Yarns Amore in Rooibos Red
Red Heart Yarns Hygge in Pearl
Red Heart Super Saver Yarn in Buff for the nose
F-3.75mm Crochet Hook
Pipe Cleaner
Yarn Needle
Scissors

NOTES:
-Use a larger hook to make this larger.
-This will fit any standard sized bottle top

Special stitches:
Ch(s): chain(s)
YO: Yarn Over
BLO: Back Loop Only
St(s): Stitch(es)
Sl st: slip stitch
SK: Skip
SC: Single Crochet

Hat:

With Amore Yarn
Ch 2
Rnd 1: Work in continuous rounds and in BLO throughout Hat Part, 4 SC in 2nd ch from hook. (4)
Rnd 2: SC in each st around. (4)
Rnd 3: 2 SC in next st, SC in the rest of the sts on the round. (5)
Rnds 4-8: SC in each st around. (5)
(insert pipe cleaner early on in this part because it is difficult to add later in this pattern)
Rnd 9: Repeat Round 3. (6)
Rnds 10-15: SC in each st around. (6)
Rnd 16: Repeat Round 3. (7)
Rnds 17-20: SC in each st around. (7)
Rnd 21: Repeat Round 3. (8)
Rnds 22-23: SC in each st around. (8)
Rnd 24: Repeat Round 3. (9)
Rnds 25-26: SC in each st around. (9)
Rnd 27: Repeat Round 3. (10)
Rnds 28-29: SC in each st around. (10)
Rnd 30: Repeat Round 3. (11)
Rnds 31-32: SC in each st around. (11)
Rnd 33: Repeat Round 3. (12)

Rnd 42: [SC2TOG, SC in next 2 sts] 6 times. (18)
Fasten off.
Weave in ends.

Use a pen or your crochet hook and twist the top of the hat to curl it around. (See video tutorial for visual instructions)

Nose: With buff, work in continuous rounds and in BLO
Ch 2
Rnd 1: 6 SC in 2nd ch from hook. (6)
Rnd 2: 2 SC in each st around. (12)
Rnd 3: SC in each st around. (12)
Fasten off with long tail for sewing.

Assembly: Add Hygge Yarn as the beard in the front of the hat (see video tutorial for attachment method). Fray out all the Hygge Yarn to make a fuller beard. Trim to make it look uniform.
Sew nose to center of hat at top of beard. (See video tutorial for placement.
Weave in all ends.
