Today, I am happy as a *clam!* I am about to *open up* to all of you and share with you how much you are all *chowder* this world! When I face a new project or new pun, I think “Nadia, the creative world is your *oyster!*” I am not trying to dispense huge *pearls* of wisdom here. No, it would be a *clam-ity* if I started doing that! Instead I will put my heart and hand *mussels* to better use and make great projects for y’all! And *shucks!* maybe you like a few! I am trying to do as many fun and fashionable projects before my baby arrives. You know, the whole *clam* before the storm idea…anyway, I better *clam* down and get to work! Wouldn’t it be awesome to have more “arms” to crochet? I think it would be “ink-redible,” and I am not “squidding!” I would be well “armed” to take on any project and could “octopi” my time more efficiently! I would “squeeze” a lot more projects into my schedule and would “sea” a boost in productivity! I would be “kraken” down every day! I wouldn’t be a “sucker” and make each day “i-tentacle.” No. I would change it up so I “squidn’t” get bored. That way when Valentine’s Day “floats” by, I can “seas” the day, wrap my “arms” around my sweetie, and have time to “cuttle” with the one who “octopis” my heart.

Recently, a catalog arrived in my mailbox with a unique selection of gift items for all ages. In typical fashion, I often find myself thinking about how to make similar items using crochet.
I fell in love with these darling booties that were similarly made out of fabric and set out to create a crochet pair designed only using yarn!
We all derive inspiration from various sources, but it isn’t always possible to recreate each design substituting yarn as fiber of choice but thankfully, this adorable pair of booties turned out to be quite the exception!

Fasten of with long tail for sewing.
Add a fleck of white in the eye for detail.
Sew to bag.

Fasten off with long tail for sewing.

Ch 13 Row 1: SC in 2nd ch from hook and across, ch 1, turn. (12) Rows 2-8: SC in each st across, ch 1, turn. (12) Row 9: SC2TOG, SC in 8 sts, SC2TOG, ch 1, turn. Continue to SC around whole piece. Fasten off.
Sew to shark side. Use photos as guide. Make sure the pocket is functional (don’t sew up the top side of the pocket)

Ch 11, fasten off with long tail.
Sew to shark.

Start with long tail for sewing
Work in BLO and in continuous rounds

We are “bass-ically” coming to the end of our Valentine’s puns. I “fish” we had more time because I’m having so much “fin!” I have a “boat-load” of material. I’m not being “koi” about it. With only a few days left, I’m not about to “swimmer” down. Instead, I’m over here, “kraken” myself up! I “sardine-ly” try to keep everyone laughing. You know I’m not doing this just for the “halibut.” These puns are an annual event. You may wonder, “”Water” you doing these for, Nadia?” My answer is, “These puns are a big “tank” you for being in my life!” I have always said, “You are my “ray” of sunshine.” You make me want to “Carp-e” Diem, and not “flounder” around anymore. There’s nothing “fishy” about this. My “sole” is truly in making up these puns!
