Special stitches:
Ch(s): chain(s)
YO: Yarn Over
St(s): Stitch(es)
Sl st: slip stitch
SK: Skip
SC: Single Crochet
HDC: Half Double Crochet
DC: Double Crochet
DC2TOG: Double Crochet 2 sts together
DC3TOG: Double Crochet 3 sts together

 

Pattern:

There is no video tutorial to follow along with this pattern.

Square:

I changed color every row but you do not have to. I am not writing the pattern with the color changes.
Make 5 of the squares

Start with a Magic Circle OR Ch 3

Rnd 1: 24 DC in MC or 24 DC in 3rd Ch from hook, Sl st to first st, fasten off, change color.

Rnd 2: Attach yarn to any stitch, Ch 2, [DC3TOG, Ch 2] 8 times, Sl st to first st. Fasten off, change color.

Rnd 3: In any Ch sp, Ch 2, [3DC, Ch 2, 3 DC] in same sp, * 5 DC in next Ch sp, [3 DC, Ch 2, 3 DC] in next ch sp, repeat from * around, sl st to first st, Fasten off, weave in all ends.

Make sure to make 5 squares, then sew them all together in a line.

Attach yarn to short side of one side of headband to make the strap

Attach yarn to the first stitch on one side of the square, Ch 2 (does not count as a stitch)

Row 1: DC in each st across, Ch 2, Turn. (11 sts)

Row 2: DC2TOG, DC in each st until 2 sts remain, DC2TOG, Ch 2, Turn. (9)

Row 3: Repeat Row 2. (7)

Row 4: Repeat Row 2. (5)

Row 5: Repeat Row 2. (3)

Row 6: DC3TOG, Continue to Ch 31
Fasten off and cut tail short after pulling knot tight.

Repeat same concept for other side of headband.
Fasten off and weave in all ends.

-This pattern is for leg warmers that measures: 10 inch ankle, up to 18 inch calf, and they are 13 inches long They will fit most adults.

Special stitches:
Ch(s): chain(s)
YO: Yarn Over
St(s): Stitch(es)
Sl st: slip stitch
SK: Skip
SC: Single Crochet
HDC: Half Double Crochet
DC: Double Crochet

Pattern:

Make a slip knot and add the loop to your hook

Insert hook into the center opening of the hair tie and wrap your working yarn around the band. Slip stitch to attach your yarn.

Round 1: HDC 48 sts working AROUND the hair tie, Sl st to first st to close round, scoot the stitches around to cover the whole band.

Round 2: Ch 2 (does not count as anything), [2DC in next st, DC in next 2 sts] 16 times, sl st to first DC. Fasten off, weave in all ends.
This creates a ruffle and a fabulous scrunchie look!

Assembly:

There’s no assembly, just fun! Make as many of these as you’d like, in alllll the colors!!

Pattern:

Ch 165 or any amount that wraps around your head twice
Row 1: Sl st in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across, ch 1, turn. (164 sl sts)

Row 2: Work in FLO, HDC in each st across, ch 1, turn. (164 HDC sts)

Row 3: Work in BLO, Sl st in each st across, ch 1, turn. (164 sl sts)

Row 4: Repeat Row 2

Row 5: Repeat Row 3

Row 6: Repeat Row 2.
Fasten off with long tail for sewing.

Assembly step:
Twist Headband  around head and cross over and pull both ends up and around to the back of the head. (See video tutorial on how to do the twist with visual instructions)
Sew the ends together in the back of the head.
Sew the opening in the middle of the headband all the way across.
See video tutorial on where exactly to sew closed.

Weave in all ends.

Inspired by the Coachella Festival flower crown filter on Snapchat, I designed this fun and ethereal headband. Headband from the Dollar Store (Or you can crochet your own headband)

-You can make as many flowers as you want and use any colors/yarn type that you want.
-If you cannot find a headband at the dollar store, you can crochet your own by checking out this link.
-You can use any type of yarn for this project. Gauge is not important.

Special stitches:
Ch(s): chain(s)
YO: Yarn Over
St(s): Stitch(es)
Sl st: slip stitch
SC: Single Crochet
HDC: Half-Double Crochet
DC: Double Crochet

Pattern:

Small Flower: Make 4

Before making your slip knot, leave a 6-8” tail;

ch 12

Row 1: sc in 4th ch from hook (first ch 1 sp made). * Ch 1, skip 1 ch, sc in next ch. Repeat from * to end.

Row 2: Ch 1, turn, 2sc and 1 sl st, in first ch 1 sp, 3 sc and 1 sl st in each of the next 4 ch 1 sps. Fasten off with long tail for sewing. Roll strip into a flower, stitch flower together at base.

Medium Flower: Make 2

Before making your slip knot, leave a 6-8” tail;

ch 34

Row 1: sc in 4th ch from hook (first ch 1 sp made). * Ch 1, skip 1 ch, sc in next ch. Repeat from * to end.

Row 2: Ch 1, turn, [2 sc and 1 sl st] in first ch 1 sp, [3sc, 1 sl st] in each of the next 3 ch 1 sps, [3 hdc, 1 sl st] in each of the next 4 ch 1 sps, [4 hdc, 1 sl st] in each of the next 4 ch 1 sps, [4 dc, 1 sl st] in each of the next 4 ch 1 sps. Fasten off with long tail for sewing. Roll strip into a flower, stitch flower together at base.

Large Flower: Make 2

Ch 5, join with sl st to 5th ch from hook to form a ring.

Rnd 1: Ch 1, working in ring, 1 sc, 1 hdc, 4 dc, 1 hdc, 2 sc, 1 hdc, 4 dc, 1 hdc, 1 sc, sl st on the 1st sc. (16 sts)

Rnd 2: Ch 1, sc in same st, (Ch 3, skip one st, sc on next st) repeat around, join. (8 ch-3 loops)

Rnd 3: sl st into first ch 3 sp, ch 1, [(Sc, hdc, 3 dc, hdc, sc) in ch-3 loop, sl st in sc] repeat around, join. (8 petals)

Fasten off with long tail for sewing.

Center of flower:
Ch 2
Rnd 1: 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook.

Fasten off, sew to center of Large flower

Extra Large Flower: Make 2

Before making your slip knot, leave a 6-8” tail;

Row 1: Ch 44 (Or any even number)

Row 2: sc in 4th ch from hook (first ch 1 sp made). * Ch 1, skip 1 ch, sc in next ch. Repeat from * to end.

Row 3: Ch 2, turn, skip the first stitch of the previous row, tr first ch sp, ch2, 2tr into same sp. 2DC, ch2, 2DC in each ch sp across. Fasten off and change color.

Row 4: [ch 3, 5dc] all in first ch 2 sp, *sk 2 sts and sc in between 3rd and 4th dc (see video tutorial for visual instructions), 6 dc in next ch 2 sp, repeat from * across. Fasten off. Roll strip into a flower, stitch flower together at base.

Leaf: Make 3
Ch 10
Row 1: Sl st in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next, hdc in next, dc in next 3, hdc in next, sc in next, sl st in last. fasten off with long tail for sewing.

Assembly Step:
Sew all pieces to your headband (See video tutorial for visual instructions), make it as fancy as you want!! TIP: Be sure to stretch out your headband when sewing on your pieces. That way the headband won’t show through when you put it on your head.

Here is an easy project headband for the holiday. For the times when you need a small touch to an outfit or to add a little extra to a gift. This decorative adornment can be made as a plain band or with an embellishment like this happy snowman, a bow, or a flower! Get creative!

Snowman Headband

Instead of a snowman, you could add a heart!

You could add a flower appliqué too!

With Red: Ch 61 (or any odd number that will fit around the head you want to make it for)
Row 1: SC in 3rd ch from hook, sk next ch, *5 DC in next ch, sk next ch, sc in next ch, repeat from * Until you get to the end, put 10 DC in last ch and turn to work on opposite side of foundation chain. ***sk next ch, sc in next ch (where there is a sc from opposite side), sk next ch, 5 DC in next ch, repeat from *** until the end, fasten off with long tail and sew headband closed.

Snowman Applique: (Work in BLO)

With White, Ch 2
Rnd 1
: 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook (6)

Rnd 2: 2 SC in each st (12)

Rnd 3: *2 SC in next st, SC in next st, repeat from * around (18)

Rnd 4: *2 SC in next st, SC in next 2 sts, repeat from * around (24)
Fasten off with long tail for sewing

Hat applique:
Row 1: Ch 7, sc in 2nd ch from hook and across (6)
Row 2: sl st in first st, sc in next 4 sts, leave last st unworked, ch 1 turn.
Row 3: sc across, ch 1 turn (4)
Row 4-5: Sc across, ch 1 turn (4)
Sl st down side and fasten off with long tail for sewing.

Embroider face by watching video to get visual instructions, sew all pieces to headband
