On the first day of Christmas we take a candy cane, we add a cute bow, and a lovely name tag…🎶🎵
This is how you make an adorable holiday place card holder. Add this to any table setting to bring some Christmas flair to your family dinner!
Here is a list of supplies I used:
Candy canes
Hot Glue Gun
Hot Glue Sticks
Size G-4.25mm Crochet Hook
Scissors
Lion Brand Yarn Vanna’s Choice
Paper for the Name Tag
To start, I crocheted a bow.
Pattern for this small bow is as follows:
Ch 30
SC in 1st chain to form a loop and continue to SC around in each Ch, Work in continuous rounds working in the BLO for 6 rounds.
Fasten off with a very long tail.
Follow along with this tutorial to learn how to make a bow:
You can make your bow any size, but I only chained 30 at the beginning for the foundation row.
I used the long strand of yarn that I cut at the end to wrap around the center of the bow to cinch it in.
Then I took hot glue and glued the THREE candy canes together so they would stand up.
Once they were dried and attached, I hot glued on the bow.
I added a place card with the name written fancy. You can add this to your table setting for an extra detail to your holiday decor!

I did this project in just a few minutes. It was sooooo easy!!

There are a lot of ideas in this one project! Unleash your creativity and turn this project into a body pillow by stuffing it and sewing the mouth closed. You could make it shorter and add straps to the back to make a backpack. Adding a long strap, you could create a cross-body bag. You could put a handle on it and make it a cute Halloween candy sack!
Change the colors and add bows and eyelashes to make this more gender specific. There are so many cute ideas packed into one great pattern!! Have fun!!

Work in continuous rounds and in the BLO
Ch 51 Rnd 1: SC in 2nd Ch from hook and across, put 3 SC in last ch and continue to work on opposite side of foundation chain, SC across, put 2 SC in last st (where first stitch of this round was placed). (102 sts) Rnd 2-65: SC in each st around. Rnd 66: SC in 8 sts, Ch 34, Sk 34 sts, SC in the rest of the sts on the round. Rnd 67: SC in each st and each ch around. (102 sts) Rnds 68-88: SC in each st around.
Fasten off with long tail for sewing.
Assembly: Sew top of bag closed (see video tutorial, I recommend sewing it inside out and then putting it right side out when finished)
Straps:
With Stripes Yarn, Make 2
Ch 11: Row 1: SC in 2nd ch from hook and across, CH 1, turn. (10) Row 2: SC in 4 sts, Ch 2, Sk 2 sts, SC in last 4 sts, ch 1, turn. Row 3: SC in each st and each ch across, ch 1, turn. (10) Rows 4-12: SC in each st across, Ch 1, turn.
Fasten off with long tail for sewing.
Eyes: With White Make 2, work in continuous rounds and in BLO
Ch 2 Rnd 1: 6 SC in 2nd Ch from hook. (6) Rnd 2: 2 SC in each st around. (12) Rnd 3: [2 SC in next st, SC in next st] 6 times. (18) Rnd 4: [2 SC in next st, SC in next 2 sts] 6 times. (24) Rnd 5: [2 SC in next st, SC in next 3 sts] 6 times. (30)
Fasten off with long tail for sewing.
Pupil: Make 2 with Black
Ch 2 Rnd 1: 6 SC in 2nd Ch from hook, sl st to first SC. (6) Rnd 2: Ch 1, 2 SC in each st around, sl st to first SC. (12)

Inner Mouth:
With Black Make 2

Fasten off with long tail for sewing.
Teeth: Make 8 in White

I found a photo of a monster bag on Pinterest by SpoonFlower and was inspired to create it in crochet! Voila! The Munching Monster Laundry Bag came to life!
Our first crochet project in the 12 Days of Christmas, starts with this Bows and Bells Napkin Rings! This project takes a common household item and transforms it to make these lovely tabletop decorations.
These napkin rings use an every day household item that usually gets tossed in the trash or recycled. This project is a great way to reduce waste and reuse your tissue paper rolls!
While I was experimenting and playing around with the napkin ring, I noticed a flame-less tea-light candle fit inside the ring perfectly! ((Disclaimer: DO NOT USE OR LIGHT A REAL CANDLE WITH THIS PIECE)) Sitting on the side of a shelf, this looks very festive!

With Green:

Rows 2-25: SC in each st across, ch 1, turn (8 sts)
You can continue working more or less rows depending on how big your cardboard ring is.
Fasten off with long tail for sewing.
Sew crochet piece around cardboard piece.

Bow:
With Red
Ch 20
Round 1: SC in 1st ch and each ch around
Place stitch marker and work the rest of the rounds in continuous rounds
Rounds 2-5: Working in BLO, SC in each st around
Fasten off with really long tail
Bow strand:
Ch 15
HDC in 2nd ch from hook and next 5 chs, HDC3TOG, HDC in last 6 chs
Fasten off.
Weave in ends
Assembly:
Wrap yarn around bow and bow strand making a cute bow. Sew to napkin ring, sew on bow.
