12 Days of Christmas: Sheep Ornament

This Sheep Ornament is our eighth pattern in the 12 Days of Christmas Ornament collection! This is such a cute little crocheted gift to adorn your tree or use it instead of a bow on a package for anyone on your gift giving list!

Red Heart Super Saver Yarn in any colors you want. I used Aran, Dusty Gray, and Black
F-3.75mm Crochet Hook
Stuffing
Yarn Needle
Scissors

NOTES:
-Use a larger hook to make this larger.
-This ornament measures approximately 3 inches tall and 3 inches wide

Special stitches:
Ch(s): chain(s)
YO: Yarn Over
BLO: Back Loop Only
St(s): Stitch(es)
Sl st: slip stitch
SK: Skip
SC: Single Crochet
DC: Double Crochet

Pattern:

Body: Make 2
Work in continuous rounds
With Aran
Ch 2
Rnd 1: 6 SC in 2nd ch from hook. (6)
Rnd 2: 2 SC in each st around. (12)
Rnd 3: [2 SC in next, SC in next] 6 times. (18)
Rnd 4: [2 SC in next st, SC in next 2 sts] 6 times. (24)
Rnd 5: [2 SC in next st, SC in next 3 sts] 6 times. (30)
Rnd 6: SC in next, [Sk 1 st, 6 DC in next st, Sk 1 st, SC in next st] 7 times, SC in last sts, Sl st in next st.
For first one, fasten off with long tail for sewing.
For second one, fasten off with short tail.

Head: With Dusty Gray
Ch 2
Row 1: SC in 2nd ch from hook, ch 1, turn. (1)
Row 2: 3 SC in stitch, ch 1, turn. (3)
Row 3: 2 SC in 1st st, SC in next st, 2 SC in last st, ch 1, turn. (5)
Row 4-5: SC in each st across, ch 1, turn. (5)
SC around entire piece.
Fasten off with long tail for sewing.

Legs: With Dusty Gray
Make 2
Work in BLO and continuous rounds
Ch 2
Rnd 1: 6 SC in 2nd ch from hook. (6)
Rnds 2-5: SC in each st around. (6)
Fasten off with long tail for sewing.

Ears: With Dusty Gray
Make 2
Ch 5
Row 1: Sl st in 2nd ch from hook SC in next, HDC in next, DC in last ch
Fasten off with long tail for sewing.

Assembly:
Sew head to one side of body, embroider eyes and nose with black yarn, Sew ears to head/body. Sew body front and back together, stuff the piece before closing it completely.
Use the video tutorial to learn how to attach all the pieces.
Sew on the legs.
Add string/ribbon to make it an ornament
Weave in all ends.
