The year cannot pass without my annual family Halloween costume. It’s always a highlight to plan and create them for my platform. Each year, I painstakingly work to make sure that the ensemble will be memorable. This year is no exception. I loved creating the patchwork dress for my character using the fantastic pattern from: CozyDayDesigns on Etsy
Nate’s skeleton head was inspired from my Toad hat costume here. Nas was the ghost dog and the perfect costume to round out our family trio!

Poncho:
Ch 92
Row 1: DC in 3rd ch from hook and across, Turn. (90)
Row 2-32: Ch 2 (does not count as stitch) DC across, Turn. (90)
Row 33: Ch 2, DC in 35 sts, Ch 20, Sk 20 sts, DC in last 35 sts, Turn.
Row 34: Ch 2. DC in each st and each ch across, Turn. (90)
Rows 35-65: Ch 2, DC across, Turn. (90)
Fasten off, Weave in ends
Hood:
Attach yarn to middle front of neck part
Row 1: Ch 1, SC around neck, do not connect, TURN.
Rows 2-42: Ch 1, SC across, Turn.
After hood is long enough, fasten off with long tail. Sew top seam of hood closed.
Attach yarn to bottom front of hood, SC 2 rounds around front of hood to clean up the edge.
Ears:
Make 2 with white

Rnd 3-24: 2 SC in first st, SC in the rest of the sts in the round. Rnd 24 will have 27 sts
Rnd 25: [2SC in next, SC in next 2 sts] 9 times. (36)
Rnds 26-30: SC in each st around. (36)
Fasten off with long tail for sewing.
Orange nose: Work in continuous rounds.
Ch 2 (or magic circle)
Rnd 1: 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook. (6)
Rnd 2: 2 SC in each st around. (12)
Rnds 3-5: SC in each st around. (12)
Add stuffing
Rnd 6: [SC2TOG] 6 times. (6)
Close round and fasten off with long tail for sewing.
Sew orange ball to tip of white nose.
Stuff white part of nose and sew to hood
Eyes:
With black
Make 2
Ch 2
Rnd 1: 8 SC in 2nd ch from hook, sl st to first st. do not turn. (8)
Rnd 2: Ch 2 (does not count as st), 2 DC in first st, 2 HDC in next, 2 SC in next, 2 HDC in next, 2 DC in next, 2 HDC in next, 2 SC in next, 2 HDC in next, Sl st to first st, Ch 1. Do not turn. (16)
Rnd 3: SC in each st around.
Fasten off with long tail for sewing.
Sew eyes to hood.
