Crochet Tutorial: Boho Pom Hat

Yesterday, I released the Boho Tassel Scarf. You can find it here! Every great scarf needs a fun hat to match to complete the set! Here is my Boho Pom Hat to make this super cute look!! This duo will make a FABULOUS gift for the holidays!

Spike Stitch: Insert Hook into stitch from previous row, YO pull through and pull up to height of row you are on, YO pull through 2 loops on hook. Spike made.

Rnd 1: 9 SC in 2nd Ch from hook, Sl st to 1st SC, Ch 1 (9)
Rnd 2: 2 SC in each st around, Change color to Black, Sl st to first SC, Ch 1 (18)
Rnd 3: 2 Spike Sts in each st around (working in sts from Rnd 1) Sl st to first Spike st, ch 1. (18) (See video tutorial for help on spike stitches)
Rnd 4: [2 SC in next st, SC in next st] 9 times, change to Dusty Gray, Sl st to first st, Ch 1. (27)
Rnd 5: [2 Spike sts in next st, Spike st in next st] 9 times (working in sts from rnd 3), sl st to first spike st, ch 1. (27)
(If your crown of your hat is large enough at this point for a newborn size, you can jump ahead to the instructions fro Rounds 13 and 14)
Rnd 6: [2 SC in next st, SC in next 2 sts] 9 times, change to Black, Sl st to first st, ch 1. (36)

Red Heart Yarns Holiday in Green/Silver (<200 Yards)
Red Heart with Love Metallic in White (<20 yards)
I-5.5mm Crochet Hook
Pom Maker
Yarn Needle
Scissors

NOTES:
-Use a smaller hook to make these smaller
-Use a bigger hook to make these bigger
-This is a repeat pattern
-The one I made is 17 cm (6.5 inches) long. 34 cm around (12 inches around)
-These can be folded and worn long in 2 different ways
-To make these bigger, chain an even number for your foundation chain and you can make these as big as you want.
-Make more or less rows to make these shorter or longer.

Special stitches:
Ch(s): chain(s)
YO: Yarn Over
St(s): Stitch(es)
Sl st: slip stitch
SK: Skip
SC: Single Crochet
HDC: Half Double Crochet
DC: Double Crochet
FPDC: Front Post Double Crochet
BPDC: Back Post Double Crochet
Shell: 5 DC in same stitch

Pattern:

Make 2
With Green:
Ch 36 or any even number that will fit around your calf
Rnd 1: Sl st in first ch to form a large ring, ch up 2 (does not count as anything), DC in each ch around, sl st to first dc. (36 sts)
Rnds 2-16: Ch 2, FPDC on first st, *BPDC on next, FPDC on next, repeat from * around, sl st to first FPDC. (36 sts)
Rnd 17: Ch 1, turn work around (looking at inside of boot cuff), SC in same st where you sl st’d, *sk 1 st, shell in the next, sk 1 st, sc in next, repeat from * around, sl st to 1st sc. Fasten off, Weave in all ends.



Assembly:
Make 4 poms and 2 chains of 40. See video tutorial on how to attach the poms and make bows.
