I don’t have sisters but a group of best girlfriends who are my “sistys.” These ladies and I have made the panda our honorary group mascot. I’m not sure how that came about, but it has now become our thing. This Panda Clutch Purse design is dedicated to my sistys who are all over the globe from Comoros Africa, to Virginia, to Germany, to Wisconsin. I have been thinking about them and missing them so much lately. I am inspired everyday by these special ladies that are out changing the world. To my Panda, Panda, Panda crew, this one’s for you!
For those of you who are fans of pandas and all things related to pandas, this is a great project!
Did you know that pandas are a symbol of peace? In writing this blog, I looked up a few fun facts and came across this interesting blog if you want to learn more!
Check out this funny clip of me as a panda in a tree! Thanks to Snapchat! LOL

A couple of my favorite vices are handbags and shoes. I love a good bag! A nice tote that I can carry around with style! I can’t begin to tell you how many things I carry around in my purse! With that in mind, I decided to create a handbag with space and functionality in mind. Using a bit of creative ingenuity, I incorporated some thrifted macrame hoops and some old cable wire to help make this beautiful design and give it a unique shape.
For my prototype, I created it using Red Heart Yarn that I happened to pick up on a sale, but my recommendation would be to use a COTTON YARN or a cotton blend yarn. It’s not wrong to use any kind of yarn, you can make this any way you like, but for sturdiness and durability, a cotton yarn may work better in this project.
I added some fun embellishments, floral details on each end of the purse sides, a cute little tassel, as well as a wooden button for closure.
Feel free to modify this to your liking with your own personal touches. Keep in mind, the size of this bag can be changed, and I have all that information in the Notes section below.
This would make an amazing yarn bag! In fact, this bag perfectly accommodates a One Pound skein of yarn with ease (Tested and Approved!).
A smaller version of this bag would be a cute makeup or accessory bag! Have fun with your creativity!! Share your photos when you’re finished on the Facebook page here!

NOTES:
-This pattern is made with separate pieces and is seamed with crochet and sewing
-The video tutorial demonstrates a purse that is approximately 12 inches, but if you do more chains you can make this bigger. The video tutorial shares how to make this wider.
-To make this longer, just repeat rows 2-5 as many times as you want for the body of the purse.
-To make side rings with the flowers bigger, follow the math for the increases to make it bigger. If you need it to be smaller, stop increasing at any point.
-This took me about 2 days to make, but you could make this in one day if you work on it constantly.
-You can use any type of cotton or cotton blend yarn to achieve this style.

Fasten off when your handle is long enough.

When sewing the bottom seam, you can add a cord to keep your piece straight so it doesn’t get wonky.
I think watching the video for all the sewing will help greatly in creating your piece.
Tassel:
Watch video tutorial or add any embellishment you like to attach to the handle for a pretty finish
Button:
Add button to center front, crochet loop by attaching yarn to back of purse, chain 10, sl st to the next st, and fasten off. (See video tutorial for visual instructions)
Weave in all ends.

The internet is flooded with ways to “go green” and help the environment. Whenever there is a way to help our great planet, I am a big fan of doing what I can! I have run across many how-to videos on ways to convert a t-shirt into a tote bag.
As a huge advocate for the four R’s: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Re-purpose I will show step by step in this photo blog with an accompanying video, a detailed way on how you can do all four in one great project and add in a bit of crochet magic to make this project even more amazing!! We will be Recycling an old t-shirt and Re-purposing it into a market bag, thus Reducing the amount of plastic bags that go into the landfills. ANDDD, you can Reuse it over and over! Help the environment and look stylish while doing it! It’s a win/win!
Materials you will need:
Tee shirt, Yarn, Crochet Hook, Ruler, Sharpie, Cardboard, Scissors, Rotary Cutter (skip stitch blade), Yarn Needle
Lay your tee shirt out flat
Draw lines around the neckline and the sleeves to cut
Cut those lines (Cutting off sleeves and neckline)
Turn your shirt inside out and grab your ruler
Draw 3 inch lines 1 inch apart all along the bottom
Cut along those lines (see video tutorial for visual instructions)
Tie those strips into knots
The bottom will “bunch up,” do not stretch it out. Tie some more knots to reinforce the bottom
The next step is optional as you can crochet around the handles.
Get your skip-stitch blade and run it along the edges to create holes. You can get your own skip stitch blade here
Single crochet around everything.
See video tutorial to learn how to do this part.
Voilà!! Your bag is done! Enjoy!
Take it shopping! Go Green!
Use it as a market bag, diaper bag, or a book bag.
The uses for this awesome project are endless!

This is a very easily adaptable pattern that can be transformed into many items besides the trick or treat bag that I originally am making this bag for. It can be made into a tote bag, a handbag, purse, laptop case, iPad case. You can add a drawstring by weaving it through the top of this bag and omitting the handles. There are SO many ideas in one pattern!
Another fun idea with this pattern is to use the base bag and change up the embellishments and colors to make all kinds of neat Halloween fun trick-or-treat bags that will stand out and last for years to come!

Summer is here and I needed a bag to take with me to the farmers market to hold all my goodies! I stumbled upon this lovely bagdesigned by Lily’s Sugar ‘n Cream This bag can be used in so many different ways! Take it to the beach, use it as a purse, use it as a book bag if you’re a student, use it as a project bag and take it wherever you go to continue your crochet projects!
I used different colors than the pattern calls for, so you can use my color choices, you could stick to the original written pattern color scheme, or you can make up your own color scheme! Make it one solid color if you’d like! The creativity possibilities are endless!
Here is the video tutorial on how to make this tote bag.
