Grab your hook and your Lion Brand Yarns “Feels Like Butta” and “Go for Faux.” Now you have everything you need to make my winter fur snood!

‘Tis the season for cold temps, snow days, and crisp winds. What better way to stay warm and cozy than a fashionable snood? What is a snood you ask? It is a scarf + hood= snood!! It’s the perfect winter statement! It’s all the rave at this time and you can make your very own by following along to my easy pattern and video tutorial. Don’t like the idea of a snood? Don’t worry! This doubles as a VERY beautiful neck cowl!

No matter which way you choose to wear it, you will love it! Versatile, fashionable, and comfortable! It’s a perfect trifecta for you!

Materials you will need:

Get the supplies individually by clicking the links below
Lion Brand Feels Like Butta Yarn in Charcoal (654 yards)
Lion Brand Go For Faux Thick & Quick in Husky (72 yards)
SizeI-5.50mm Crochet Hook
Yarn Needle
Scissors

NOTES:
-Use a smaller hook to make these smaller
-Use a bigger hook to make these bigger
-You can use any size 4 medium, worsted weight yarn for this project
-This cowl is 80 inches around (you could make it longer or shorter based off your foundation chain)
-You can check out yarnsub.com to see yarn substitutions that are equal to the yarn I used in this project.

 

 

Special stitches:
Ch(s): chain(s)
YO: Yarn Over
BLO: Back Loop Only
St(s): Stitch(es)
Sl st: slip stitch
SK: Skip
SC: Single Crochet
DC: Double Crochet

Pattern:

Cowl:

Work in BLO for the whole cowl

Rnd 1: FDC 230 and sl st to first st without twisting foundation row. Or you can Ch 230 or 232 (as I say in the video tutorial) and Sl st to first ch, Ch 2, DC in each Ch around, sl st to first st, Do not turn. (230)

Rnd 2: Ch 2 (does not count as st), Work in BLO, DC in each st around, Sl st to first st, do not turn.

Rnds 3-18: repeat Rnd 2 (you can continue and make yours wider if you want!)

Fasten off, Weave in all ends.

Add a DC round of Faux Fur around each edge working between the posts of the stitches on the outer rows of your work. (See video tutorial for visual instructions)
