I’m taking it “slow” this morning as I finish wrapping up our Valentine’s puns! I really enjoyed “hanging” with you these past two weeks sharing my projects. I really love it “a sloth.” Now that this series is over I can take a little time to “relax” maybe even have a cuppa “slothee.” Maybe be a little “anti-sloth-al” for a day or two and enjoy Valentine’s with this sweet boy. He will be just “hanging out” with his mama all day. I am not trying to get all “philo-sloth-ical,” but this has been a very “sloth-some” experience to really help me “move slowly” back to a regular crochet schedule. Up until recently, I have been in total “sloth-mode”. Thanks for being so “sloth-ful” and kind everybody! Enjoy the final Punny Valentine!

Using White and Denim Yarn
Use I-5.50mm Crochet Hook

Ch 3
Rnd 1: 3 DC in 3rd Ch from hook, Ch 2, [3 DC in the same ch as first 3 DC, Ch 2] 3 more times, Sl st to first DC, Turn.

Rnd 2: Sl st into Ch 2 corner sp, Ch 3, DC in same corner, Ch 2, 2 more DC in same corner, *DC in each st until you get to next corner, [2DC, Ch 2, 2DC] in next ch 2 corner sp, Repeat From * around, sl st to first Ch 3 st, (Fasten off color, change color every 2 rows). Turn work.

Rnd 3: In any corner, Ch 3 (counts as DC), [DC, Ch 2, 2 DC] in same corner sp, *DC in each st until you get to next corner, [2DC, Ch 2, 2DC] in next corner sp, Repeat from * around, sl st to first Ch 3 st, Turn.

Embroider Black Dots for eyes or use Safety Eyes.

Assembly: Sew The white part to the head, then sew the eyes on the face, then embroider the nose and mouth. Sew the head to the lovey square, then stuff and sew the arms to the lovey. Sew the fingers to the ends of the arms if you haven’t done that yet. Weave in all your ends.

I feel like I am having a “Deja-Moo” from last year creating all of the corniest puns. I get so “a-moos-d” making these captions. I am trying hard to not push “pasture” tolerance of ridiculousness, but you know I am here to “bull-doze” you over with too many puns. Once I get started, it’s “udder-ly” hard to stop! I try to “beef” these up year after year, I try to “cow-culate” the best projects to deliver the best captions. It’s not easy, but if you don’t like them, I try not to cry over spilled “milk” and “moooo-ve” onto the next! I think this little cow is going to be “legen-dairy.” All I know is with this project, the “steaks” have been raised! “Holy Cow” I think you have “herd” enough.

Wouldn’t it be awesome to have more “arms” to crochet? I had the wonderful pleasure of spending a few days with my sweet nephew. On Saturday afternoon, he and I set out to work on creating a character out of his imagination. My nephew chose the colors and the features as well as giving him a name. Meet Fredrick the Misfit Monster! This darling amigurumi was born from the imagination of a very special 4 year old.

Frederick is huggable and silly. He has lost most of his teeth but 3, from eating lots of candy that he sneaks at night. He loves adventures, finds mischief and mayhem, yet loves to cuddle. He protects and scares away creatures in the closet and under the bed or behind curtains! He likes to read books and play games on the iPad. Fredrick is a best friend. This is a great project to involve children. They can choose colors and features, as well as giving their very own misfit monster a name and personality! This simple project is sure to delight any child!!

I often receive requests to do specific tutorials. My to-do list is always growing. Once in a while I get a suggestion that makes me stop everything and move that special request to the very top of my list. I was asked a short time ago to design and film a dinosaur for a little boy battling cancer. Since my videos have easy to follow instructions, a YARNutopia follower wanted to make one of their own to gift it to this special young man.

A few years ago, I made the Caron One Pound One Skein Bunny, by Deb Richey, for my cousin. As Easter is approaching, she commissioned me to make another large bunny for her godson.

Although I did not use Caron’s One Pound Skein, I found a Red Heart Super Saver Jumbo skein to make this bunny pattern which worked just as well!

This pattern by Deb Richey is such a fun pattern to make! I forgot how adorable this bunny is! As it started to take shape, I remembered how lanky this creature is. What a fun stuffed toy for a little boy or girl during Easter!! This pattern took me a total of 10 hours to make.

Deb’s pattern is easy to follow and easy to read. In the end, it creates such an excellent piece. If you are looking for something fun to create this Easter, or any time of the year, this is a great project! This would be lovely in a nursery, it would make a nice gift, or a fun companion for the little ones in your life. The overall size of this bunny measures 36 inches tall (92 cm).

This sweet little fella will hop right into your heart this season! This Bunny Amigurumi in a Carrot Cocoon is a darling project and easy enough to have done in time to make it in those baskets this Easter! For those of you who love bunnies, this is a 10 on the adorable scale!!

When I was a little girl, my maternal grandma LOVED bunnies! I remember every Easter we would go to her house and she had a basket full of bunnies. I remember playing with them! Because of her, I developed a love for stuffed bunny rabbits and it has carried into my adulthood! It has inspired me to share it with all of you!!

Repeat the same concept of row 2 and row 3 until you make your square big enough. End on an odd row. I ended mine on row 7.

Assembly Step:
Once you have all 4 squares complete and as big as you want them to be, single crochet them together then continue on to the border.

Border of lovey:

Rnd 1: In any corner, ch 3, 2 dc in same sp, [3dc, ch 1] in each sp until you get to the intersection where the two squares meet. Dc in the single crochet from the meeting (see video tutorial for visual instructions), then continue working [3dc, ch 1] in each sp. (Corner: 3dc, ch 2, 3dc), work this pattern all the way around.

Rnd 2: In any ch 1 sp, ch 1, sc in same sp, *7dc in next ch 1 sp, sc in next ch 1 sp, repeat from * around.

Fasten off, weave in all ends.
