Crochet Tutorial: Feline Rested Sleep Mask

For any mother who needs a day of rest and relaxation this coming Mother’s Day, this is the “purrrrfect” gift!! My Feline Rested Sleep Mask is a very simple, yet novelty item to make in time to give to mom on her special day! Pamper her or anyone who just “kneads” sleep right “meow”!!! This is such a “PAW-some” project!!

Red Heart Super Saver in Black
Red Heart Super Saver in White
Elastic
Felt
-G-4.25mm Crochet Hook (Find the hook I used in my video tutorial here!)
Yarn Needle
Scissors

You can buy any of the items in this kit. Buy all or buy one item. Check it out to see the supplies you can get online to make this mask!

NOTES:

-This project uses less than 100 yards of yarn.
-Use a smaller hook to make these smaller
-Use a bigger hook to make these bigger
-Watch the FULL video tutorial for visual instructions for each row and tips on how to make this smaller and bigger.
-Weave in all the ends as you go so you don’t have to weave them all in at the very end.

Mask

Ch 5
Row 1: 2SC in 2nd ch from hook, SC in next 2 chs, 2 SC in last ch, ch 1, turn. (6)
Row 2: SC in each st across, ch 1, turn. (6)
Row 3: 2SC in 1st st, SC in next 4 sts, 2SC in last st, ch 1, turn. (8)
Row 4: SC in each st across, ch 1, turn. (8)
Row 5: 2SC in 1st st, SC in next 6 sts, 2 SC in last st, ch 1, turn. (10)
Rows 6-10: SC in each st across, ch 1, turn. (10)
Row 11: SC in 8 sts, SC2TOG, ch 1, turn. (9)
Row 12: SC2TOG, SC in 7 sts, ch 1, turn. (8)
Row 13: SC in 6 sts, SC2TOG, ch 1, turn. (7)
Row 14: SC2TOG, SC in 5 sts, ch 1, turn. (6)
Row 15: SC in 5 sts, 2SC in last st, ch 1, turn. (7)

Ears: With Black Make 2
Ch 6
Row 1: SC in 2nd ch and across. ch 1, turn. (5)
Row 2: SC2TOG, SC in next, SC2TOG, ch 1, turn. (3)
Row 3: SC across, ch 1, turn. (3)
Row 4: SC3TOG.
Continue to SC around entire piece.
Fasten off with long tail for sewing.

Nose
Ch 6
Row 1: SC in 2nd ch from hook, SC in next, 2 SC in next 2 Chs, SC in last 2 chs, ch 1, turn. (8)
Row 2: SC in 1st 3 sts, 2 SC in next 2 sts, SC in last 3 sts continue to SC around piece. (See video tutorial for visual instructions on where to stop)
Fasten off with long tail for sewing.

Eyes:
Make 2
Ch 11, Fasten off, Sew to Mask

Assembly Step:
Embroider Whiskers, Mouth, and Nose on Mask, see video tutorial for visual instructions.
Attach Elastic and Felt on back of Mask. Add felt inside ears.
