Hot off my hook is the Grab-n-Go Hat and Cowl set!! Using Evermore Yarn by Red Heart Yarns, the texture and color of these pieces can’t be beat! And my, oh my, are they warm! I’m ready for winter and whatever it has to bring!!

-I used Red Heart Evermore Yarn but you can use any bulky size yarn to make this hat and cowl set.
-This hat measures approximately 22 inches around and will fit an adult size head.
-This hat uses 170 yards of yarn. (I used a total of 2 skeins of Evermore yarn in this project)

K-6.50mm Crochet Hook
Yarn Needle
Scissors

Ch(s): chain(s)
YO: Yarn Over
St(s): Stitch(es)
Sl st: slip stitch
SK: Skip
SC: Single Crochet
HDC: Half Double Crochet
DC: Double Crochet
TR: Treble Crochet
FPDC: Front Post Double Crochet
FPDC3TOG: Front Post Double Crochet 3 Stitches Together
DC3TOG: Double Crochet 3 Together

Pattern:

Pattern:

Chain 48 or any multiple of 16
Sl st to first CH to form a ring

Rnd 1: Ch up 3 (Counts as st), 2 DC in same Ch,  *DC in next 6 Chs, DC3TOG, DC in next 6 Chs, 3 DC in the next Ch, repeat from * around, ending with 1 DC in last 6 Chs, Sl st to first st of the beginning 3-DC grouping, turn. (48 sts)

Rnd 2: (looking at inside of hat) Ch up 1, FPDC in same St as Ch up 1, FPDC on next 5 Sts, *FPDC3TOG, FPDC on next 6 sts, 3 FPDC on next st, FPDC on next 6 sts, repeat from * around, ending with 3 FPDC on last st, Sl st to 1st FPDC, turn. (48)

Rnd 3: Work in both loops doing regular DC on this row, Ch up 3 (Counts as st), DC in next st, *3 DC in next st, DC in next 6 sts, DC3TOG, DC in next 6 sts, Repeat from * around, ending with DC in last 4 sts, Sl st to first st, turn.

Rnd 4:  (looking at inside of hat) Ch up 1, FPDC in same St as Ch up 1, FPDC on next 3 Sts, *FPDC3TOG, FPDC on next 6 sts, 3 FPDC on next st, FPDC on next 6 sts, repeat from * around, ending with FPDC on last 2 st, Sl st to 1st FPDC, turn. (48)

Rnd 5: Work in both loops doing regular DC on this row, Ch up 3 (Counts as st), DC in next 3 sts, *3 DC in next st, DC in next 6 sts, DC3TOG, DC in next 6 sts, Repeat from * around, ending with DC in last 2 sts, Sl st to first st, turn.

Rnd 8: (looking at inside of hat) Ch up 1, *FPDC3TOG, FPDC on next 6 sts, 3 FPDC on next st, FPDC on next 6 sts, repeat from * around, ending with FPDC on last 6 sts, Sl st to 1st st, turn. (48)

Rnd 9: (looking at outside of hat) Ch up 4, DO NOT work in same st as ch 4, TR in next st, *DC in next 2 sts, HDC in next 2 sts, SC in next 2 sts, Sl st in next st, SC in next 2 sts, HDC in next 2 sts, DC in next 2 sts, TR in next 3 sts, repeat from * around, ending with TR in last st. Sl st in to first st.
Do not turn. Continue to decrease top of hat.

Rnd 10: [SC2TOG, SC in next 6 sts] 6 times. (42 sts)

Rnd 11: [SC2TOG, SC in next 5 sts] 6 times. (36 sts)

Rnd 12: [SC2TOG, SC in next 4 sts] 6 times. (30 sts)

Rnd 13: [SC2TOG, SC in next 3 sts] 6 times. (24 sts)

Rnd 14: [SC2TOG, SC in next 2 sts] 6 times. (18 sts)

Rnd 15: [SC2TOG, SC in next st] 6 times. (12 sts)

Rnd 16: [SC2TOG] 6 times. (6 sts)
Fasten off with long tail and sew top hole closed

Turn work upside down and work on the foundation chain

Rnd 17: (brim round) Attach yarn to any DC3TOG stitch, (See video tutorial for visual instructions, Ch up 4, DO NOT work in same st as ch 4, TR in next  st, *DC in next 2 sts, HDC in next 2 sts, SC in next 2 sts, Sl st in next st, SC in next 2 sts, HDC in next 2 sts, DC in next 2 sts, TR in next 3 sts, repeat from *  repeat from * across, ending with TR in last st.
Fasten off.
Weave in all ends.
