FREE Written Crochet Pattern: Chevron Washcloth

Have you ever wanted to make a chevron project but never knew how to get started? Today’s easy project will take you through the process and get you comfortable with the chevron design in this beautiful cotton washcloth.

Once you’ve mastered this small project, you will have confidence to try your hand at a larger chevron piece! These washcloths are so nice for kitchen or bath. Materials you will need:
Get the supplies individually by clicking the links below
Red Heart Yarns Scrubby Smoothie (I used Lemony and Aqua) If you cannot get this yarn, any cotton yarn will do!
Size H-5.00mm Crochet Hook
Yarn Needle
Scissors

NOTES:
-Use a smaller hook to make these smaller
-Use a bigger hook to make these bigger
-This washcloth measures 12 inches by 12 inches. You can make this bigger or smaller with a longer chain or shorter chain when you start your foundation (multiples of 12+3), and if you want it longer, just continue the repeat to make it longer.

 

 

Special stitches:
Ch(s): chain(s)
YO: Yarn Over
St(s): Stitch(es)
Sl st: slip stitch
SK: Skip
SC: Single Crochet
DC: Double Crochet
HDC: Half Double Crochet

Washcloth:

With Lemony
Ch 39 or any multiple of 12 + 3

Row 1: 2 DC in 3rd Ch from hook, *DC in next 5 Chs, Sk 1 Ch, DC in next 5 Chs, 3 DC in next Ch, Repeat from * across, ending with 2 DC in last st, Turn.

Row 2: Ch 2 (does not count as a st), 2 DC in first st where the ch 2 is, (See video tutorial for visual instructions), *DC in next 5 sts, Sk 2 sts, DC in next 5 sts, 3 DC in next st, repeat from * across ending with 2 DC in last st, Turn. (Change color after this row-optional)

Row 3: Ch 2, 2 DC in first st where the ch 2 is, *DC in next 5 sts, Sk 2 sts, DC in next 5 sts, 3 DC in next st, repeat from * across ending with 2 DC in last st, Turn

Row 4: repeat Row 3, change color after Row 4

Rows 5-14: Repeat Row 3, change color after every 2 rows.

Fasten off, weave in ends.
