
In the third part of all things baby week, I bring you the Mini Square Baby Dress! In keeping with the Granny Square theme (See 365 Days of Granny Squares project), I’ve created this cute little dress to match the shoes and hat.

Materials you will need:
–Bernat Softee Baby in Pink (Approx. 100 yards)
–Herrschners Whisper Soft Yarn in White (Approx. 360 Yards)
–Size G6-4.25mm Crochet Hook
–Yarn Needle
–Scissors
NOTES:
-This pattern is written for an infant. This will fit a baby that is 3-6 months old. Use a smaller hook to make it smaller or a larger hook to make it bigger.
-You can also make the Granny Squares bigger to make this dress bigger.
-You can make more rounds on the skirt to make it as long as you want.
-You can also crochet around the sleeves and the neckline to make it have a clean edge.
Special stitches:
Ch: chain
St(s): Stitch(es)
Sl st: slip stitch
SC: Single Crochet
DC: Double Crochet
Mini Granny Square: Make 20
Ch 4
Rnd 1: Work 2 dc in 4th ch from hook, ch 2, work (3 dc in same ch sp, ch 2) 3 times; join with a sl st in top of ch 3. Fasten off.
Rnd 2: Attach new color in any ch 2 sp, ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), work 2 dc in same sp; ch 1, * work (3 dc, ch 3, 3 dc) in next sp (corner made); ch 1, repeat form * twice more, ending with 3 DC in beginning ch 2 sp where we started. join. Fasten off. (See video tutorial for visual instructions)
Assembly Step:
See video tutorial for instructions on how to sew your squares together to make the top of the dress.
Skirt:
Rnd 1: On the back, Attach color in any ch 2 sp of any granny square. Ch 3, 2 DC in same sp, 3 DC in each sp around. Sl st to beginning ch 3. (90 DC)
Rnd 2-19: CH 2 (does not count as st), DC in each st around. Sl st to beginning DC. (90 DC)
You can make more rounds if you want to make this longer.
Fasten off, Weave in ends.
Rnd 20: (Last round): attach yarn in any st, ch 1, sc in same st, *sk 2 sts, 5DC in next st, sk 2 sts, sc in next st, repeat from *around. Sl st to beginning sc.
Fasten off weave in all ends.
Use a ribbon to cinch the middle waist line and tie a bow.
