Front Panel and Back Panel: (These instructions are for ONE panel, make 2 exactly the same–See video tutorial for visual instructions)
Ch 142 or any multiple of 20 + 2 Row 1: DC in 3rd Ch from hook and next 19 chs, *Ch 20, Sk 20 chs, DC in next 20 chs, repeat from * across ending with DC in last 20 chs, ch 2, turn.
Row 2: DC in first 20 sts, *Ch 20, Sk ch 20 sp, DC in next 20 sts, repeat from * across, ending with DC in last 20 sts, Ch 2, turn.
Rows 3-50: Repeat Row 2 (you can go beyond Row 50 if you want to make yours longer)
Assembly Step:
Make 2 of these panels exactly the same way. Once the front panel and back panel are made, sew the shoulders and up the sides leaving space for arm-holes (see video tutorial for specific instructions on how to sew this closed)
Add fringe to the sides and around the arm holes. Weave in loose ends.

Ch 114 or any even number that will wrap around your neck loosely

Row 2: Ch 2, SC in the next Ch 1 sp, *Ch 1, SC in the next ch 1 sp, repeat from * across, ending with SC in the ch sp at the start of Row 1, turn.
Rows 3- 35: Repeat Row 2
Row 36: Ch 2, SC in the next Ch 1 sp, *Ch 1, SC in the next ch 1 sp, repeat from * until you have 16 SC sts, leave the rest of the row unworked. Turn.
Rows 37-80: Repeat Row 2 on this shorter section. (This is creating the “over one shoulder” side)
After Row 80, fasten off with long tail for sewing.
Fold the piece as shown in the video tutorial here and continue to work on the opposite end of the foundation row working down the piece.

Once your piece is folded and sewn together like a poncho, then Attach new yarn to the first stitch of your foundation row

The next step you need to do is mark 28 stitches in from Row 14 of the last section you crocheted on both sides of the poncho. (See video tutorial at minute 36 if this is confusing)
Attach Colorscapes Yarn to the ch sp after the stitch marker
Row 1: Ch 2, SC in the next Ch 1 sp, *Ch 1, SC in the next ch 1 sp, repeat from * across, ending with SC in the ch sp at the start of previous row until you get to the stitch marker on the opposite side. Leave the rest of the stitches unworked. Turn.

After Row 14, Fasten off.
You will now work along the edge of the Colorscapes section you just crocheted.

Neck of poncho:
Work in continuous rounds, attach Colorscape yarn to the back of the poncho along the neckline, Ch 2, SC in the next Ch 1 sp, *Ch 1, SC in the next ch 1 sp, repeat from * around
Round 2-10: Repeat the previous round.
Fasten off after round 10.
Weave in ends.
Assembly:
Weave in all ends.
Add fringe to the bottom of the poncho, add a long drawstring braid to the neck of your poncho.

Part of Nate’s Halloween costume includes a mesh like vest under Link’s Tunic. As I was creating it, I thought to myself how nice this would be worn on it’s own! You can wear it as the costume piece it was intended for, a vest over a cute top, or as a swimsuit cover-up! This turned out to be better than I expected with more versatility than I could imagine! An easy pattern that is adaptable to all sizes!

I braved the chilly temperature to showcase my latest design for summer. My Mesh Beach Swimsuit Cover-up is here just in time to enjoy sand and surf. I would not recommend heading to the beach quite yet if you live in a climate like mine! My toes have finally started to regain feeling! Haha!! Things will be heating up soon!
Below a closeup photo of the Mesh Beach Swimsuit Cover-up. Made with 100% cotton, this piece can be worn over a swimsuit or as a tunic top. I have paired it over a swimsuit to show you how wonderfully useful this will be for summer at the beach
I’m like a kid in a candy store when it comes to being excited for warm weather and fun in the sun! This cover-up was just the right piece to get me in the mood for summertime! This versatile tunic is not only perfect over swimwear, but it makes a nice summer top that can be worn over a sundress or tank top.
Removing the drawstring belt is optional, to give this piece a new look. The wide boat neck collar is perfect for wearing off the shoulder. Ooh, la, la! Summer, here we come!
Here, I have paired it over a white dress for a more modest fashion tunic.

486 pixels were stitched over the past few months and each one was made with love. The creation of this pixel blanket was made to be given to Nate in time for his birthday today, March 30th, 2016.
Nate is a video game enthusiast and early on I decided to create something epic for his special day. My idea formulated around a discussion about vintage video games we each played as kids. He loved Zelda, and mentioned the Nintendo NES system as a favorite. Of course, this had me scrambling in my creative way to find the perfect project to bring this favorite retro past-time to life. Behold the creation of the Nintendo NES Controller Pixel Blanket!
I decided to try to graph this project out on paper and found a photo of this controller by just doing a Google Search. Once the graph was made, it was a series of mathematics calculations to figure out how much each square would equal in a measurement of inches. I wanted the overall size to be about the size of a queen-size bed. The calculations for this blanket equal the equivalent of 54 inches wide x 80 inches long.
Once the size was determined, then the calculation of how many pixels of each color would have to be figured out.
All these calculations can be found in the pattern below. Each square has to be individually created based on these initial calculations. It was easiest for me to work color by color. I began with grey, black, red, then lastly white. Once each square was made, I began to lay them out to determine if the vision in my mind was exactly what I pictured. This was the part where I held my breath hoping that I hadn’t made any mistakes in my calculations! Below you will see the pixels all laid out on the floor.
Once the pixels were laid out and my design was satisfactory, the process of sewing these tiny squares was my next major step. Working in rows, I worked my way across first, then down, as shown in the tutorial video. Soon this project began to come together in the perfect work of art I envisioned!
I added a few details to enhance this design. Instead of pixels, I crocheted two circles for the buttons on the controller and a crochet chain to emulate a cord coming from underneath the controller going to an invisible console. Once complete, this labor of my love became one of the most amazing creations I have made thus far. It was, by far, the best gift and was received with delight!

-You can use any yarn brand you want, as long as you stick to the colors White, Black, Gray, and Red to make the pixel photo in the end as long as it’s an 8ply or 10ply yarn (worsted weight/double knitting).
-This took me a very long time to make. I started it in January 2016, but haven’t worked on it consistently, and I finished it on March 26th, 2016.
-You could use a smaller hook to make this smaller.
-This measures 80 inches across and 54 inches tall
-When you attach your squares in the back, they puff up making a 3D look to the pixels. It looks great!
-The Cord is optional, but the circle buttons need to be included to make the Pixel photo complete
