Crochet Tutorial: Mini Square Infant Hat

Crochet Tutorial: Mini Square Infant Hat

I’ve decided to dedicate this next week to all things BABY! To start this project, and the ensemble set, I’m making an infant hat first. In keeping with the Granny Square theme (See 365 Days of Granny Squares project), I’ve created this cute little cap that is sure to keep your precious bundle warm.

Continue to follow this series as I will be making booties, a dress, and a security blanket lovey for a very special baby.

Here is a close-up photo of what the hat looks like:

Materials you will need:
Bernat Softee Baby in Pink (Approx. 100 yards)
Herrschners Whisper Soft Yarn in White (Approx. 360 Yards)
Size G6-4.25mm Crochet Hook
Yarn Needle
Scissors

NOTES:
-This hat makes the granny squares first, then the rim of the hat, then we work the other side of the granny squares and work up the hat to close up the top.
-You could use the granny square design and make that in a headband design as well! That would be really cool!
-This pattern is in multiples of 9 so you can make as many granny squares as you want to make it bigger and follow along with the decreases as the same in my hat
-This pattern is written for an infant. This will fit a baby that is 3-6 months old. Use a smaller hook to make it smaller or a larger hook to make it bigger.
