Summer is here and the kids are home all day long! What better way to bring in the summer than with great activities that don’t require the TV or any electronic devices.
Do you have a roadtrip planned? How about a day at the beach? Camping anyone? No matter where you go, even if it is just outside to your back yard, this totable Tic-Tac-Toe game board will promise loads of entertainment for all ages. Perfect for around the campfire when you are hanging out with the kids, perfect to pull out at the beach for some fun in the sand, perfect for picnics where you can open this up for some competition across the picnic table. There is nothing like an old fashioned game of Tic-Tac-Toe to bring on a some competitive spirit!
This is the perfect solution to long boring “I don’t have anything to do” blues! This game board easily cinches up into a bag or satchel and stores all the game pieces. Open it up and you are ready to play. Make up rules, make competitions, make point goals to claim a winner! First person to get 25 Tic-Tac-Toes takes the prize!! Whatever way you play, it is sure to provide lots of old school fun without relying on modern technology to fill those hours.
This project is a great stash buster for using up that extra yarn. It also would be a nice project to make in cotton for all-weather, all-terrain play. I would also suggest that you can put velcro on the back of the X’s and O’s as well as the squares to provide more stability. Make the O’s in one team color, the X’s in a rival color and make this a sport related rivalry game! The possibilities are endless! There are so many options with this game board!
Get yours started today and watch how much fun this pattern will provide! Follow along with my step by step tutorial and written pattern for year round enjoyment!

I love to create matching layette sets when designing items for babies. I love the idea of a cute dress with matching accessories. Today, I have the second installment for the Happy Hearts Baby Dress. I designed a Vintage Style Baby Bonnet.
This sweet baby hat has similar ruffle detail as seen on the cap sleeves of the Happy Hearts Baby Dress. Using similar colors with this matching detail, this tiny bonnet is the perfect pairing for this sweet outfit.
With more pieces to come, this is the perfect set to start now and add to as the pieces become available! This will make a wonderful gift!

June marks the official start of the summer season here in the northern hemisphere. It is the month when I get geared up to create a lot of fun-in-the-sun crochet patterns that are perfect for this time of year. Here is a pattern to launch that collection of great summer designs!
My Pom Poms and Pineapples Beach Poncho will have you feeling ALL KINDS of SUMMER VIBES! Seriously, this is one of the most delightful fashion pieces I have ever designed!! With a plethora of stitches, this creative piece will make the perfect swimsuit cover-up!! Picture yourself at the pool or sinking your feet in the sandy beach, sporting this adorable cover-up over your fun and sassy swimwear!! This is the picture-perfect piece to wear anytime all season long!
Made with Scrubby Smoothie Cotton by Red Heart Yarns, this project will be a sure-fire hit as you head to the water! Go from sea, sun, and sand by day, pairing this over your swimsuit, and wear it into the evening with a cute summer sundress or tank-top and capris for those summer nights! You can’t go wrong with this fabulous poncho no matter which way you wear it! I LOVE mine and you will too!
This is one pattern you won’t want to miss!!! A fun tip: add a few tacking stitches under the arms to create sleeves and turn this awesome poncho into a cute summer top! Now, go grab your hooks, your fave cotton yarn (here is my latest obsession) and let’s get started! The sooner you begin, the quicker you can head to the beach! See you there! Be sure to post your photos of this wonderful project and hashtag #YARNutopia! I can’t wait to see those beach pictures!
