
“Pack-aderm” your “trunk” full of “grey” yarn, ladies and gents! Are you up to the “tusk” of making these adorable Easy Elephant Booties? Last I “herd,” the word about the Flamingo Booties was pretty great, so I decided to add another great design to my Exotic Animal Booties Series!! I will continue to use an “elephant” of surprise when introducing these new patterns. So keep watching and sharing my page! You can buy any of the items in this kit. Buy all or buy one item. Check it out to see the supplies you can get online to make these booties!
NOTES:
-This project uses less than 100 yards of yarn.
-Use a smaller hook to make these smaller
-Use a bigger hook to make these bigger
-Watch the FULL video tutorial for visual instructions for each row and tips on how to make this smaller and bigger.
-Weave in all the ends as you go so you don’t have to weave them all in at the very end.

-The measurements for these booties are 5 inches (13 cm) long and will fit a 6 month old baby. (find other sole measurements here)
-Use a basic Slipper or Bootie pattern in any size and then follow along with the embellishments of this pattern to make these in any size. I do not have stitch counts for larger sizes in this pattern.
-I found a great pattern by HodgePodge Crochet for adult sizes on the slipper! Find it here! Then follow along with the Embellishments of my pattern for the elephant design!

Booties: Make 2
With Charcoal
Chain 10
Rnd 1: 2sc into 2nd ch from hook. Sc in next 5 st. Hdc in next 2. 8Dc in last ch. Working on other side, hdc in next 2, sc in next 5, 2 sc in last stitch where beginning 2 sc are. Don’t join. (26 sts)
Rnd 2: 2 sc in 1st st from last row, 2 sc in next. Sc 7, hdc in next, 2hdc in each of the next 6 stitches, hdc in next, Sc 7, 2 sc in last 2 stitches. Do not join – (36 sts)
Rnd 3: Sc in next 2 stitches, 2 sc in next. Sc10, 2sc in next 2 stitches, sc in next 6, 2 sc in next 2 stitches. Sc 10, 2sc in next. Sc in last 2 stitches. Fasten off (42 sts)
Rnd 4: Attach Yarn to BLO of the stitch you fastened off in, sc in BLO of each stitch around. Join to 1st sc. Ch 1 (42 sts)
Rnd 5: Sc in same as join, and in each sc around. Join, ch1. (42 sts)
Rnd 6: Hdc in same as join and in each stitch around, join with ss to 1st hdc (42 sts)
Rnd 7: Sc in same st as join, sc in next stitch, sc2tog, sc 7, hdc2tog 10 times, sc 7, sc2tog, sc in last 2 stitches. Join, ch1. Don’t turn. (30 sts)
Rnd 8: Sc 9, hdc2tog 6 times. Sc 9. Join and ch 1 (24 sts)
Rnd 9: Sc 9, hdc2tog 4 times, sc 7 and join. (20 sts)
Fasten off, weave in ends.
Nose/Trunk: With Gray Heather
Work in the BLO
Ch 8
Rnd 1: SC in 1st ch and in each ch around (See video tutorial to go around)
Rnds 2-12: SC in each st around
Rnd 13: [SC2TOG] 4 times. (4)
Rnd 14: SC 1st and 3rd sts together. (1)
Fasten off with long tail for sewing.
Pull long strand through trunk to the bottom and pull a little bit inward.
Then sew it to the bootie.

Eye Patch Pieces: With Gray Heather
Make 2 per bootie
Ch 7
Row 1: SC in 2nd ch and across, ch 1, turn. (6)
Row 2-3: SC across, ch 1, turn. (6)
Row 4: SC2TOG, SC in 2 sts, SC2TOG, ch 1, turn. (4)
Row 5: [SC2TOG] twice, ch 1, turn. (2)
Row 6: SC2TOG, turn.
SC around the entire piece.
Fasten off with long tail for sewing.
Tusks: With White
Work in continuous Rounds and in BLO
Make 2 per bootie
Ch 2
Rnd 1: 4 SC in 2nd ch from hook. (4)
Rnd 2: SC in each st around. (4)
Rnd 3: [2SC in next st, sc in next] 2 times. (6)
Rnd 4: SC in each st around. (4)
Rnd 5: [2SC in next st, SC in next 2 sts] 2 times. (8)
Rnd 6: SC in each st around. (8)
Fasten off with long tail for sewing.
Assembly step:
Stuff the tusks and sew them to the booties, then sew the eye patch pieces over the tusks on each side of the booties.

Ears: With Gray Heather
Work in continuous rounds and in BLO
Make 2 per bootie
Ch 2
Rnd 1: 6 SC in 2nd ch from hook. (6)
Rnd 2: 2 SC in each st around. (12)
Rnd 3: [2 SC in next st, SC in next st] 6 times. (18)
Rnds 4-6: SC in each st around. (18)
Rnd 7: [SC2TOG, SC in next st] 6 times. (12)
Rnd 8: [SC2TOG] 6 times. (6)
Fasten off with long tail for sewing.
Eyes: With Black
Make 2 per bootie
Ch 2
Rnd 1: 6 SC in 2nd Ch from hook. (6)
Fasten off with long tail for sewing.
Assembly step:
Add a little tick of white in the eye with white yarn.
Sew ears and eyes to booties.
Weave in any loose ends.
