Red Heart Scrubby Smoothie Cotton yarn in Aqua and Loofah
-G6-4.25mm Crochet Hook
Yarn Needle
Scissors

NOTES:
-Use a smaller hook to make these smaller
-Use a bigger hook to make these bigger
-I used 2 colors but you can use as many colors as you want
-I used a size 4 medium yarn, you can use any worsted weight, DK, or Aran yarn for this project

Special stitches:
Ch(s): chain(s)
YO: Yarn Over
BLO: Back Loop Only
St(s): Stitch(es)
Sl st: slip stitch
SK: Skip
SC: Single Crochet
HDC: Half Double Crochet
DC: Double Crochet
Puff: [YO, Insert Hook, YO, Pull through] 3 times, YO pull through all 7 loops on the hook, Ch 1 to close the st.
Cluster: [YO, Insert Hook, YO, Pull through, YO pull through 2 loops] 3 times, YO pull through all loops on hook.

Socks:

Top Cuff:

Ch 11,
Row 1: SC in the 2nd Ch from hook and across. Ch 1 turn. (10)
Rows 2-25: Working in BLO, SC in each st across, ch 1, turn. (10)
Sl st row 25 to row 1 to close cuff, DO NOT fasten off, then go onto the Heel part of the sock.

 

Heel of the Sock: Work in BOTH LOOPS for the rest of this pattern

Round 1: SC in each “row” around + 2 more stitches. (27 sts around), sl st to 1st SC. Fasten off this color and change color.
Row 2: With new color, Ch 1, SC in 14 sts, leave the rest of the sts unworked, Ch 1, turn.
Rows 3-6: SC in each st across, Ch 1, turn. (14)
Row 7: SC in 5 sts, [SC2TOG] twice, SC in last 5 sts, ch 1 turn. (12)
Row 8: SC in each st across. (12)
Row 9: SC in 4 sts, [SC2TOG] twice, SC in last 4 sts. With wrong side facing you, fold the heel in half, sl st just the first 4 sts of the two layers together. This closes the base of the heel. (See video tutorial for visual instructions)
Fasten off and change back to main color. Go onto the Foot part of the sock.

With your main color,
Round 10: SC 32 sts evenly around sock (see video tutorial for specific locations), Sl st to first st, DO NOT turn. (32 sts)
Round 11: Ch 1, SC in first 7 sts, [SC2TOG] twice, SC in 10 sts, [SC2TOG] twice, SC in last 7 sts, Sl st to first st. (28)
Round 12: Ch 1, SC in first 6 sts, [SC2TOG] twice, SC in 8 sts, [SC2TOG] twice, SC in last 6 sts, sl st to first st. (24)
Rounds 13-20: Ch 1, SC in each st around, sl st to first st. (24)
(You can do more or less rounds to make the foot part longer or shorter depending on the length of the baby foot you are making this for)
When you have the length as long as you need, fasten off and go onto closing the toes.
Round 21: With your second color, Attach yarn to any stitch, Ch 1, [SC2TOG, SC in next 2 sts] 6 times, sl st to first st. (18)
Round 22: Ch 1, [SC2TOG, SC in next st] 6 times, sl st to first st. (12)
Round 23: Ch 1, [SC2TOG] 6 times. (6)
Fasten off and close the hole by sewing in your ends

Red Heart Baby Econo Yarn in Newborn Prints (**Discontinued**) You can use any variegated yarn (150 yards)

G/6-4.25mm Crochet Hook
Yarn Needle

Poly-fil for stuffing

NOTES:

-The written pattern has sole sizes for Small 5/6 US Women’s Shoe Size, Medium 7/8 US Women’s Shoe Size, and Large 9/10 US Women’s Shoe Size

-The video tutorial ONLY shows the MEDIUM size.

-The sole is made and then the back of the slipper is made and then the front of the slipper and embellishments are made. If you are making smaller or bigger sizes, follow the written pattern for the sole and then watch the video tutorial for help on making the back of the slipper and the front of the slipper.

-The front of the slipper is the same on ALL sizes. The back may be a little different because of the stitch counts.

-This pattern is written for one foot. Be sure to make enough pieces for two feet.

-Depending on how stuffed you want this slipper, you can stuff it as much as you need. The more you stuff, the more your foot will be pushed down into the sole.

Mane:
With Variegated yarn and work in continuous rounds.
Ch 8
Rnd 1: SC in 1st ch and around
Rnd 2-6: SC in each st around.
Rnd 7-9: SL ST in 4 sts, SC in 4 sts
Rnds 10-19: SC in each st around
Rnds 20-22: SL St in 4 sts, SC in 4 sts
Rnds 22-28: SC in each st around
Fasten off with long tail. Stuff it.
Sew to slipper behind eyes/horn.

Assembly step:
Sew all pieces to slipper. Embellish by embroidering the mouth and nose.
Add fringe to the piece behind the horn to make the mane.

Sew everything closed after stuffing.

Weave in all ends.
